trust me.

Trust me when I say:

“Everything will be okay”.

At first, it won’t seem like it.

When something ignites the aching pain of failure,

disappointment, or just pure disdain

It’ll feel like the end of the world.

The walls will feel like they’re caving in,

Your chest will let out this cry so loud it’ll send your body into cold spells,

And you’ll feel like nothing-

Nothing matters anymore.

But trust me when I say,

“It’ll get better”

You will live on.

Life flows, it continues, and the next day will come and come again.

It's a river.

One that doesn’t wait for you to finish cleaning your wounds—

before it starts flowing again.

The water has places to be, and so do you.

So, pick your head up.

It’ll be okay.

After all, If you keep tending to the garden of your past,

You’ll never get to see the meadow that is your future.
